About the Aussiedoodle

Aussiedoodles are a lively, intelligent mix of Australian Shepherd and Poodle. They are quick learners with playful personalities, and their low-shedding coat suits allergy-sensitive families.

Herding ancestry and everyday behaviour

Australian Shepherd–Poodle ancestry can produce intelligent, highly active dogs. Interest in movement, sensitivity to noise and attempts to herd people need thoughtful training. An active household should plan structured rest as well as activity; a garden alone does not meet the dog's needs.

Exercise, coat and home fit

Combine age-appropriate walks with reward-based training, scent games and calm settling. Poodle variety affects possible adult size, while coat texture and shedding vary. Plan regular brushing and grooming. Discuss suitability carefully where there are young children, other pets or long working absences.

Health evidence before a purchase

Identify the parents and request screening relevant to Australian Shepherds and the Poodle variety, including eye and other applicable clinical and inherited-condition tests. Ask how results influenced the mating and have a vet interpret them. A long test list or a crossbreed label is not a lifelong health guarantee.

General care information, not an individual veterinary assessment. Ask your own vet to interpret health records.
