Family suitability still needs supervision

Golden Retrievers often enjoy company, retrieving and reward-based training. Large adolescents may jump or knock over small children, so practise calm greetings and supervise interactions. A sociable reputation is not a safety guarantee or a reason to leave children and dogs unsupervised.

Coat, exercise and health evidence

Plan active walks, enrichment, regular brushing and drying after wet outings. Ask about relevant hip, elbow, eye and other screening for the parents and discuss family health with your vet. Parent screening addresses specified risks, not every future disease.

General care information, not an individual veterinary assessment. Ask your own vet to interpret health records.
