Question 1

How big do Morkies get?

Accepted Answer

Morkies are tiny dogs, typically weighing 4–8 lbs and standing 6–9 inches tall. Their small size makes them ideal for apartment living and for owners who prefer a petite companion.

Question 2

Are Morkies hypoallergenic?

Accepted Answer

Morkies are low-shedding, inheriting the minimal-shedding coats of both the Maltese and Yorkshire Terrier. They're often a good fit for people with mild dog allergies.

Question 3

Are Morkies easy to train?

Accepted Answer

Morkies are intelligent but can inherit stubbornness from the Yorkie side. Consistent positive reinforcement from an early age works best. House training can take patience.

Question 4

Do Morkies bark a lot?

Accepted Answer

Morkies can be vocal — both parent breeds are known for being alert and expressive. Early training helps establish boundaries around barking.

Question 5

Are Morkies good with kids?

Accepted Answer

Due to their very small size, Morkies are best suited to homes with older, gentle children. Young children who play roughly can accidentally injure a Morkie. They do well with respectful older kids and adults.

Question 6

How long do Morkies live?

Accepted Answer

Morkies typically live 12–15 years. Their small size is associated with longevity, and hybrid genetics often contribute to good overall health.
